Prospering Mindscapes: Brain Care for Nerds

July 9 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Angela Weinberger - The Global Mobility Coach

Zürich is beautiful, but for many expats, the transition feels hard. Rules, processes, and procedures seem rigid, especially when you are looking for work or when you are trying to access the Circle of Trust. When you have work, your personal life hardly happens, as you feel constant pressure to deliver and “prove” your worth. This is not only a problem here, but being an expat magnifies many stress-related issues.

Your mental well-being can easily take a back seat.

In this session, we move beyond generic self-care. Mental Well-Being is Brain Care for Nerds.

We will explore how your brain, as a biological organ, processes stress and how you can move from a state of survival and firefighting into the green zone of flow, creativity, and prospering.

What we will cover to support Mental Well-Being

  • Perception: Understand the stressors, amplifiers, and magnifiers that shape your expat experience.
  • Resilience: Learn how the limbic system controls your emotions and how to keep your “amazing brain” safe in a high-pressure environment.
  • Connection vs. Autonomy: Navigate the fundamental struggle between your need for independence and your need for belonging in a foreign land.
  • Presence and Grounding: Experience guided meditation and journaling techniques designed to ground you in the “here and now”.

This will be a special pre-summer holiday event at Lake Zurich.

Alternatively, we will meet at Global People Transitions (or another venue).

There won’t be any PowerPoint Slides, just real talk and practice.

  • Date: 9 July 2026
