Sophy King

Sophy King leads Envoy Global’s Global Immigration division, steering the organization through a period of growth and transformation while upholding a steadfast commitment to service excellence. With over 20 years of experience in global immigration, mobility, and consulting, Sophy brings deep expertise in building and scaling international immigration programs.

Before Envoy, she was Managing Director of Owl Immigration Ltd., where she specialised in transformation and immigration technology strategy.

Envoy Global, Inc., Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East expansion under Envoy, for example, has been an area where she has had direct oversight.

Her career began at Emigra, where she rose to Director for Consulting and Compliance for the EMEA region. She later took on a leadership role as Director of Knowledge Management at Pro-Link GLOBAL Inc. In 2011, she founded her own consulting and software company, Peregrine Immigration Management Ltd., which was acquired by CIBT/Newland Chase in 2015.

Sophy is also active in broader industry initiatives: she has served as Immigration Liaison at EuRA (European Relocation Association) and is a Co-Founder & Innovation Advocate at paradiGM Community.  She holds an M.A. Cantab. in East Asian Studies (Chinese) from the University of Cambridge.

The Red Couch Talks

The Red Couch Talks feature thought leaders, global rockstars, expat entrepreneurs, and our clients from Global People Transitions in Global Mobility. We use a red couch as a backdrop for a deeper conversation, almost like a coaching session. It’s the only furniture we‘ve had since I was eight. It’s been around the block and travelled with me from place to place.

It’s almost falling apart, but it’s my happy place to chill. If you would like to join Angie Weinberger on a Red Couch Talk, please email angela@globalpeopletransitions.com or share your email address so we can send you further instructions.

I look forward to having a more in-depth conversation with you.

  1. What stands out in the interview is how she blends technological change with human insight. She has overseen transformation in immigration systems, built large-scale programmes across 26 countries and brings innovation to the way immigration teams operate. Through her eyes, immigration isn’t just about permits and paperwork—it’s about strategy, talent flow, culture, and network partnerships.

For someone working in relocation, talent mobility or global assignments, this conversation underscores a key message: success isn’t simply “move a person to a country” but “enable the person to contribute, belong and function in the new ecosystem”. Sophy reminds us that digital tools matter, but they must serve people’s actual mobility journeys—adaptation, context, connection.
