Reflections on Style: How We Mastered Business Travel with Adam Brody, Zurich Fashion Icon

When Valentine’s Day, Faschingssamstag, and Lunar New Year fall on the same weekend, the effect has to be a global celebration embedded in chasing away the old while bringing in the new. While many were focused on traditional celebrations, a select group of professionals gathered for something truly transformative. During Zurich Fashion Week, our Global People Club hosted an exclusive Master Class, “Business Travel in Style,” with Zurich fashion icon Adam Brody. The workshop in his cozy atelier was designed to spark new ideas and reveal how our wardrobes contain the tools to express and strengthen the different versions of ourselves.

A Master Class in Confidence

The afternoon was more than just a fashion presentation; it was a deep dive into the strategy of presence. Renowned Zurich Fashion Designer Adam Brody led an intimate group through a practical workshop tailored for women and men navigating the demands of frequent travel.

As Adam famously noted during the session, “How you dress influences how you show up.” This sentiment echoed throughout the room as participants explored how to balance the rigors of transit with the need to remain poised and professional.

But the conversation went deeper than travel wardrobes. We explored the idea that we don’t have just one identity; we have versions of ourselves. Depending on the situation, we ask: which version of myself do I want to bring forward today? Which facets and strengths? Is it softness, authority, playfulness, or precision?

Style is Strategy

“Our wardrobe is our toolbox,” Adam reminded us, “and we need to learn to use it to our advantage.”

What does that look like in practice?

You go out with friends and you grab the college outfit, the sneakers, the sexy jeans. Effortless. Familiar.

You go to a work presentation and bam, you pick the black suit. Safe. Polished. Expected.

But is that who you want to be? Or Is that the image you want to repeat so often that you even get bored of yourself?

The workshop challenged us to rethink these defaults.

Clothing is a tool in your development, when you change careers, when you move cities, when you step into leadership, when you evolve, so should your wardrobe.  Clothing does not create a new personality but rather magnifies a facet that was already there.

There is something about heels and a pair of feminine flared trousers walking down a corridor on the way to the board room  — tack, tack, tack — they make a statement before you even speak.

Character. Power. Know-how. Effectiveness.

Clothes don’t replace competence. But they do something powerful.

They shape posture, energy, first impressions, and self-perception.
They’re not the substance but they frame it.

And in business travel, where you move between airports, meetings, dinners, and stages, that frame matters.

More than Roses

The most radical act of love this season might not be buying flowers but dressing in a way that honors who you are becoming.

Self-love is refusing to dress for survival when you’re ready to thrive.

It’s understanding that your wardrobe isn’t there to disguise you, it’s there to equip you and amplify the version of you that is ready…

Ready for the promotion

Ready for the new job

Ready for the next chapter

Highlights from the Afternoon

The session was packed with actionable insights and hands-on experiences:

  • 2026 Trend Forecast: With fashion weeks just around the corner, Adam provided an insider’s look at the upcoming trends, giving our attendees a head start on the season’s most influential looks.
  • Wardrobe Optimization: We moved beyond the basics of packing. Attendees learned the art of curating a travel wardrobe that is as functional as it is chic—ensuring they are ready for a boardroom meeting or a late-night gala directly from the airport.
  • Personalized Styling: In the spirit of a true master class, the experience was highly personal. Participants had the opportunity to try on new styles and discover the colors and silhouettes that best suit their unique profiles.

Lessons in Travel

One of the key takeaways from the workshop was the focus on comfort without compromise. As we discussed during the event, “The workshop focuses on practical tips for women and men who want to feel comfortable, confident, and appropriately dressed while travelling for work.” By limiting the event to just 14 participants, the atmosphere remained exclusive and high-energy, allowing for one-on-one styling advice that you simply can’t find in a standard seminar.

What’s Next?

If you missed this session, don’t worry—the Global People Club is committed to bringing more high-impact, expert-led events to our community throughout 2026. Are you ready to find your 2026 look? Stay tuned for our next announcement and ensure your professional journey is always traveled in style.

Our next event is scheduled for Thursday, 5 March 2026, and will focus on “Building Resilience in Uncertain Times” with Robert Durnford.
